The hotel is ideally located for visitors to the this dynamic area of Western Uganda. There are several vibrant National Parks within one to two hours drive of the hotel that includes:

Kibale Forest -
Chimpanzee tracking, primate viewing, birding, butterflies
- Semliki - Birding, hot springs, rain forest
- Semliki Reserve - Wildlife, Lake Albert, savannah scenery
The Kamwenge road to the Kibale Forest National Park is a scenically spectacular. The area is dotted with volcanic crater lakes, tea estates and swathes of tropical forest.
The Bigodi Wetland Reserve is a very popular destination for visitors especially those ornithologists or just an amateur bird watcher.
The Lake Nkuruba Reserve is a wonderful crater lake that is open to day visitors to come and immerse themselves in the splendid surroundings found here. Again: a true haven for birdwatchers; there are several guided and none guided walking trails for visitors to follow at the site.
Local village markets are frequent and extremely colourful. Villagers are very hospitable and children joyful and enthusiastic. The twice weekly market at Rwaihamba close to Lake Nkuruba is a very popular with visitors.
Closer to hand and only a short walk from the hotel is the Fort Portal Golf Club. The hotel is able to advise guests on temporary membership and club rental.
