The Restaurant
Eating at the Mountains of the Moon Hotel restaurant is fine dining redefined. The main restaurant and classic dining room looks out onto our lush green gardens and is over looked from the gallery lounge area. An open fireplace is the focal point featuring a traditional tiled brick chimney and hearth with wood fire. The fireplace is given greater presence by the addition of an impressive gilded over-mantel mirror and a handmade vase with fresh-cut flowers from the adjacent Tooro Botanical Garden.
The lighting scheme throughout the restaurant has been designed to create a dense atmospheric setting enhancing the elements of the nearby Rwenzori Mountains.Besides the open fireplace and the wooden ceiling, the homey atmosphere is enhanced by the natural hardwood floor.
The use of cool, clean lines in the table setting is purposely selected by the proprietors in their belief that good food should always take centre stage. The sole intention is that nothing should distract from the latest cuisine blending Ugandan, European, and African flavors.
